BCSP's 2016 Annual Report ReleasedThe Board of Certified Safety Professionals’ (BCSP) has released its 2016 Annual Report. The report highlights major accomplishments from the year which will build the future of the safety profession.

The GSP program was expanded and grew significantly in 2016, which will help more young safety professionals reach their career goals with GSP-Qualified Academic Program (QAP) safety program degrees.

Overall, BCSP provided more than $1,000,000 for career-building incentives to SH&E students, ABET-accredited Qualified Academic Programs and safety professionals in 2016.

In response to industry needs, BCSP began research for a safety management certification, the Safety Management Specialist (SMS). Job task analyses, item writing, and passing score panels all contributed to the creation of this new certification.

In anticipation of continued growth as part of fulfilling its mission, BCSP relocated its Corporate Headquarters from Champaign, Illinois, to Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

“As I look forward to the future of our profession, I see great achievement because I know it will be the result of the work done by the great safety professionals with whom I have had the pleasure of working alongside today.” wrote John Hodges, CSP, OHST, BCSP’s 2016 Board President.

More information on BCSP’s 2016 accomplishments can be found in the BCSP 2016 Annual Report.
