Joel N. Tietjens is President of T-JENS & T-JENS, INC., based in Spring, Texas, outside of Houston. He is a professional speaker, seminar/course leader, and occupational safety and health (OSH) management consultant. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM).
Tietjens’ company has been serving clients, including some of the most notable Fortune 500 companies, since 1992. His knowledge base comes from over 13 years of experience in OSH management positions in the insurance, energy, industrial services, and food and beverage industries and more than 32 years of working with a multitude of diverse clients. He has also served on the faculty of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) for over 29 years.
Tietjens is an ASSP Society Fellow (FASSP), a two-time recipient of the Safety Professional of the Year award for the Gulf Coast Chapter and Region III of the ASSP, a recipient of the Gulf Coast Chapter’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and an inductee into Region III’s Safety Hall of Fame. He has also received the Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from ASSP and has twice been recognized on the Industrial Safety & Hygiene News “Power 101” list of leaders in safety and health.
Tietjens holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Missouri and is an honorary member of the Rho Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
