Latest Policy and Procedure Changes

Eligibility/Application

Effective Date: January 1, 2016

  • Persons who hold either NEBOSH’s National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety may waive the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) examination so that they may sit directly for the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) examination, if they meet all other requirements

Examination

Effective Date: October 31, 2016

  • The Certified Safety Professional® (CSP) examination will change according to its regular update schedule, following a new CSP blueprint

Effective Date: November 30, 2016

  • The Safety Trained Supervisor Construction® (STSC) examination will change according to its regular update schedule, following a new STSC blueprint

Recertification/Renewal

Effective Date: February 1, 2016

  • BCSP Recertification, Category 10, includes the:
    • NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety for 25 points;
    • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety for 25 points;
    • Certified Dangerous Goods Professional for 10 points;
    • Certified Utility Safety Professional – Safety Management for 5 points;
    • Certification for Gas Testers for 3 points;
    • Certified Utility Safety Professional – Operations Management, Supervisory and Foreman for 3 points;
    • UL Certified Risk Professional for 3 points;
    • Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control for 1 point; and
    • Property and Casualty Broker-Agent License for 1 point

Effective Date: July 1, 2016

  • BCSP Recertification, Category 10, includes the:
    • Certified Safety and Health Manager for 6 points; and
    • Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional for 5 points
